renegade craft fair !

The annual renegade craft fair passed thru austin this weekend ..

of course I had to go !

Here's the one crappy picture I took:
We walked through pretty fast , grabbing cards of vendors that interested me. Don't enjoy browsing through things amidst a million people. These were my faves:

& also the giant pewter coated horse teeth ! .. and the spearhead necklace : )

I love that she woodcarves & handprints all of her designs.

WHAT A LONG amazing WONDERFUL WEEKEND

Had a blast selling @ the Volstead. What a cute bar. Great cocktails and an old school , speakeasy feel. Sold a bunch .. my inventory is whittling down but I still have so much ! I might set up on South Congress to sell one of these Saturdays.

We will see.

Sunday morning , hungover we hogged on pizza .. napped .. & Charlie headed to work. Then I headed out to pick up some last minute goodies for my sweeeeetheart's birthday. Baked him the most delicious carrot cake & made the icing from scratch (of course) as well. Man it was SO good. Here's the recipe, I left out the raisins and coconut. Not fans of those in cake.
Monday morning I surprised him with his cake and preznts.
Then we got ready and headed to barton springs and rented a canoe.
2 hours deep it started getting 2hot so we brought it back and relaxed by the springs for a bit... and went for a swim ! Yes I braved the icy waters.

Then home for a nap & Mother's for dinner ! holy artichoke enchilada's. Mmm. So good.

So yeah, my weekend consisted of good people, moscow mules, pizza, enchiladas, AND cake.

Time to go to the gym.

delicious homemade pizzas
Used this recipe for the dough.. I like it because you don't have to wait FUR ever (like 20 minutes) for the dough to rise. I doubled the salt - added italian seasonings , and before I put em in the oven .. brushed with olive oil , sprinkled garlic powder & more seasoning .. topped with pizza sauce , port0bello shrooms , roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, spinach, feta, red onions, and lotza mozza CHEEEZ. Came out super delicious. Hogged em with some brooklyn brews. Love cooking at home , need to do more of it.

Yesterday I made some falafel burgers that came out SO GOOD.
Def a new staple. Here's the recipe if you'd like to take a stab at it. Super easy. Alterations I made to the recipe - added 2 big cloves of pressed garlic, doubled the salt + added about 2 tsp of cayenne to the mix before I processed it. Little more flavor fer yer buds. And instead of making the tahini sauce I bought tzatziki at the store (and added lemon to it).

Strange days.

Recent news .. due to a dull throbbing pain in the back of my head and blurry vision .. loss of energy .. overeating. I'm deciding to quit diet coke. I noticed the pain getting worse whenever I would drink it or use splenda in my coffee. Aspartame is linked to brain tumors .. and my symptoms seem to match others that are addicted to the stuff. Scary. I knew the stuff was bad for me .. but this is craziness. Anyways , I'm only on day 2 and having withdrawal headaches. Boo hoo.

Had our garage sale this past weekend. So much fun setting up and sellin sturF ! Finally sold my kaput scooter to a mechanic.. poor lil guy died awhile ago. Was takin up space.. it was sad though ! That thing zoomed me around for 2 years.. got it on ebay for $1500 bones.
